On 28th November, Gerakan Batu Division with its members set up a service counter at the PPR Sri Perak flat area in Sentul Baru, to register the residents to become the members of Yayasan 1 Wilayah Persekutuan, in order to assist in the problem being raised during the meeting of the flat area’s Association of Charitable Fund for the Deceased on earlier 13th November about the poverty-stricken residents of the flat were having financial problem to hold a funeral for the relative who passed away. Gerakan Youth Secretary General Dr. Dominic Lau who attended the program during that day said that this registration program was well-received by the residents of the flat area, there were 250 applications received, the response was good. “We hope that through this Yayasan program, the RM 2,500 financial aid could be able to help the family of the deceased by making up for the necessary funeral expenses. While at the same time, we also gave out 4 servings of financial aid to the family members who have already registered previously. Besides, we also managed to get sponsors of fresh seafood for the residents of Sentul Baru, which further graced the event of the day,” said Dr. Dominic Lau.
