Members of Gerakan Batu Division visited the Bandar Baru Sentul market, hawker center, coffee shop and some crowded places on the last weekend of 10 and 11 December to distribute the application form for Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) to the local residents, to explain and also helping out the people on filling in the forms, especially for the senior citizens. Besides, members of the Gerakan Batu Division also went to the Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN) counter at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall Sentul office to help out the LHDN officials filling in the application form for the residents. Gerakan Youth Secretary General Dr. Dominic Lau who attended the activity on that day said that because of the LHDN was short of officials who can command Chinese language, therefore Gerakan has made special arrangements for some personnel to be stationed at the counter to help the Chinese residents filling in and to submit the application form.

“While visiting the surroundings of Bandar Baru Sentul, we received complaints reporting that there were people selling the application form at RM2 and some senior citizens were even charged RM5 as the fee for filling in the application form on their behalf, even some were offering the “one-stop” service, from providing the application form, to complete and submit, which then a service fees of RM100 will be charged. I want to urge the people not to spend the money on buying the application form, the LHDN has permitted the photocopies of application form as well as downloaded copies from the internet,” said Dominic Lau.

In this regard, Dominic Lau also added that the LHDN counter at Kuala Lumpur City Hall Sentul office will open until this coming Friday, Batu residents whoever that is eligible to apply for the Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia can go to the Kuala Lumpur City Hall Sentul office to collect or submit the application form starting from today. Residents that need help can contact the Gerakan Batu Division at anytime, contact number: 03-40458333.
