Looking back, 2011 has been a very eventful and yet fruitful year, full of challenges, changes and concrete results.  Moving forward, we must welcome 2012 with even greater determination to realise further transformation in the true spirit of 1Malaysia to sustain national harmony and social justice.
 
Various initiatives under the government and economic transformation programmes have been implemented earnestly to address major concerns of the people, showing some tangible results, in line with the commitment on “People First, Performance Now.”  However, greater determination and efforts are still very much needed, especially in the areas of combating crime and corruption, and in further enhancing the pro-business and pro-talent environment to more effectively harness our natural and human resources to bring greater benefits to all Malaysians.

回首2011年,不仅是一个多事之年,且是丰硕的一年,这期间充满挑战、变化多端,也获得具体成就。我们应该秉持更坚强的决心,以“一个马来西亚”精神,实践转型,迎接全新的一年,向前挺进,以维持国家和谐以及社会公平。

多项政府和经济转型计划已陆续积极实施,以处理人民所关注的重要课题,并已展现了一些具体的成绩,体现“以民为本,绩效为先”的承诺。然而,在对抗罪案和贪污方面,我们需要拥有更坚强的决心与努力,并进一步地加强亲商与重视人才的环境,以更有效地善用我国的天然资源及人力资源,为所有的马来西亚人民带来更大的利益。

Dominic Lau expresses solicitude and offering assistance

C4 long house at Jinjang Utara, Sentul was caught on fire during Christmas, it has affected 5 families and yesterday Gerakan Batu Division Public Service Center had approached the affected residents to offer their sympathy, while at the same time hand over the monetary aid and some daily goods to them as assistance.

Gerakan Youth Secretary General Dr. Dominic Lau who represented Gerakan Batu Division on the monetary aid delivery said that, apart from getting the daily necessity supplies from the Welfare Department on behalf of the affected residents, Gerakan Batu Division will also be helping them to apply for government low cost flats and closely follow up as well as to expedite the application process, so that they can reacquire a new home.

刘华才慰问冼都增江北区长屋火灾灾黎予以援助

冼都增江北区C4长屋于圣诞节当天失火,影响了5个家庭,民政党峇都区部服务中心于昨日前往慰问受影响的居民,并移交援助金及一些必需品以协助居民。

当天代表民政党峇都区部移交款项的民青团总秘书刘华才博士指出,除了通过福利局为受影响的居民提供日常所需,民政峇都区部也将协助这些居民申请政府廉价组屋,并且跟进及加速申请程序,让他们重获新的栖身之所。

Gerakan Welcomes Race Relations Act, Calls it Revolutionary

Gerakan Deputy President, Dato’ Chang Ko Youn today welcomed the statement by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz that the government will introduce a race relations act to combat racial extremism and further promote interaction among the races and foster mutual respect among Malaysians.

“Gerakan believes this a revolutionary step taken by government and we wholeheartedly welcome it. It is important for us to have a legal instrument specifically target to combat racial extremism and ethnocentricity. We cannot allow the loud voices of fringe elements to drown out the vast majority of Malaysians who are moderate and peace-loving,” said Chang who is also Chairman of the Gerakan Central Bureau on the Law and Human Rights.

民政党欢迎种族关系法

民政党署理主席拿督郑可扬律师今日对于首相署部长拿督斯里纳兹里声明政府将制定的种族关系法表示欢迎。该项新法案是为了对抗种族极端主义,增进民族之间的和谐及促进马来西亚人民之间的相互尊重。

也是民政党中央法律与人权局主任的郑可扬说,“民政党相信这是政府实施的一项改革性举措,我们非常支持这项决定。 对我们而言,拥有一项专门对抗种族极端主义及种族主义的法案是非常重要的。我们不允许极端份子的声浪盖过了大多数温和,并爱好和平的马来西亚人。”
