Gerakan: Cancel the 901 rally

Gerakan Vice President Dato’ Mah Siew Keong today urges the public not to participate in the gathering at the Kuala Lumpur Court complex on January 9, the day that the verdict will be delivered for the sodomy trial involving the opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim. Dato’ Mah felt that it is utmost important for the judges in the much publicised sodomy trial to be fair on their judgement and not to be influenced by any external factors. He also wanted to remind the public that the party who not satisfied with the verdict can still file an appeal in the Court of Appeal.

民政党副主席拿督马袖强今日呼吁民众不应参与于1月9日,在吉隆坡法庭大厦前的集会。当天法庭将针对反对党领袖安华涉及的鸡奸案作出判决。马袖强认为审判法官不会受外来因素影响,将会公正对该案作出审讯。同时,他也提醒,不满审判结果的一方仍可提出上诉。

Gerakan Youth: Police should not be violent when handling students protest

Gerakan National Deputy Youth Chief, Oh Tong Keong expresses his regrets on the UPSI student protest incident which led to many students being beaten up by the police whilst one of them badly injured.  The incident not only aroused more anger amongst the citizens of the country especially young people, it also further tarnishes the image of the police which is another blow to the government.

Oh urged the police to be more civilized and act within the ambit of law when carrying out their duty in handling protests. He said, "It is unreasonable to be so violent to students who are armless and protesting in peace." Oh is also in the opinion that the police should carry out internal investigation on the UPSI incident and give an explanation to the badly injured student.

民青团:警方不应暴力对付示威学生

民青团全国署理团长胡栋强针对一群学生于苏丹依德里斯师范大学示威时遭到警方暴力对付,而导致其中一名学生严重受伤而感到遗憾。这起事件不但会令更多马来西亚人,尤其是年轻一辈的大马人民感到愤怒,甚至会进一步沾污我国警察原已就不佳的形象,间接打击政府。

胡栋强呼吁警方应以文明手法处理示威事件,并且应在法律范围内采取行动。他说,“使用暴力方式对付手无寸铁的学生是不能被接受的。”胡栋强也表示警方应针对这起苏丹依德里斯师范大学事件进行内部调查,以便给予那位受重伤的学生一个合理的交代。

Dominic Lau urges the DBKL to repair the damaged facilities

A few days ago, members of Gerakan Batu Division visited the Taman Metropolitan Batu to inspect the environment and the facilities of the recreational park.


Gerakan Youth Secretary General Dr. Dominic Lau who attended the visitation said that the Gerakan Batu Division Service Center had promptly paid an immediate visit to the recreational park once it received complaints from the local residents, the group discovered that the drains were not covered, stray dogs were wandering around which was threatening the safety of the morning joggers. Besides, fallen trees which were blown down by strong wind and rubbish were not cleaned, the facilities of the park such as the artificial rock cliffs and recreational facilities were long damaged and have been left unattended without maintenance and the signboards of the park were fell off, abandoned cabins were placed everywhere along with other problems.

刘华才促市政局维修损坏设施

民政党峇都区部等人日前走访位于峇都区金园住宅区的休闲公园 (Taman Metropolitan Batu),视察公园内的各项设施和环境。


出席的民青团总秘书刘华才博士表示,民政党峇都区部服务中心接到当地居民的投诉,便即刻前往视察有关休闲公园,发现沟渠没有盖顶,野狗到处游荡,这对晨跑人士构成危险。除此之外,遭大风吹倒的大树和垃圾也无人清理、公园内的设施如磐石崖及游乐设备也损坏已久,无人理会和维修、公园告示牌已掉落、随地置放遗弃的空舱等种种问题。
