Gerakan Batu Division had visited 7 primary and secondary schools in the Batu constituency yesterday giving away Reader’s Digest magazine to these schools for the leisure reading of the students and teachers.

Dr Dominic Lau who was in charge of giving away the magazines said that the 7 schools which are benefited are SJK(C) Jinjang Tengah (1) and SJK(C) Jinjang Tengah (2), SJK (C) Jinjang Selatan,  SJK(C) Mun Choong, SMK Raja Abdullah, SMK Dato Ibrahim Yaacob and SK Tiara Permai.

民政党峇都区部于昨日2月8日走访了峇都国会选区内的7间中小学，派送读者文摘 (Reader’s Digest) 给予这些学校，供校内学生和教职员阅读使用。

负责派送活动的民青团总秘书刘华才博士表示，这7间受惠的中小学包括了增江中区华小(一)校和(二)校、增江南区华小、民众华小、SMK Raja Abdullah, SMK Dato Ibrahim Yaacob和SK Tiara Permai。

Gerakan Batu Division received a complaint from residents of the PPR Bandar Baru Sentul Flat 81 on 6 February whom reported that the flat is facing water tank leakage problem. Although the residents of the flat had informed the DBKL a week ago about the leakage problem, the city council had not taken any action to repair it.

Gerakan Youth Secretary General Dr. Dominic Lau who went to the site for an inspection on that day said that Gerakan Batu Division with its members contacted the DBKL immediately to ask them to come forward for an inspection on the water tank of the flat as soon as Gerakan received the complaint by the residents.

民政党峇都区部于2月6日接获冼都新镇组屋区第81号座组屋居民的投诉，指该座组屋的蓄水箱出现漏水情况。尽管该座组屋居民已经在一个星期前通知了吉隆坡市政局有关漏水情况，但市政局仍没有采取任何维修行动。

当天前往巡视的民青团总秘书刘华才博士表示，在接获投诉后，民政党峇都区部等人立即联络吉隆坡市政局人员到场巡视有关组屋的蓄水箱，以了解漏水情况。

Gerakan today called on the government to be open and candid on the 1Care proposal which requires a 10% tax on all Malaysians to cover their healthcare costs. Gerakan Deputy President Dato' Chang Ko Youn said, Malaysians needed to know precise details on the scheme before they could make an informed decision if such a scheme is in their best interests.

"What we need is an open discussion and a national debate where everyone can give their views. This is too important an issue to benefit only certain special interests at the expense of the people," said Chang who is also the Chairman of the Gerakan Central Bureau on the Law and Human Rights.

民政党今日呼吁政府针对要求所有马来西亚人民缴付10%税收，以承担保健费用的一个大马健保计划保持开明与坦率的态度。民政党署理主席拿督郑可扬说，马来西亚人民需要完全了解该项计划，方能定夺它是否对自身有利，并作出决定。

也是民政党中央法律与人权局主任的拿督郑可扬表示，我们需要一个公开性的讨论及全国性的辩论，让每个人都能表达意见。这个课题很重要，因为它涉及全民的开销，但其计划只是让某部分有需要的人受益。
